Green Kid Crafts Review

We received our Green Kid Crafts subscription boxes and they were a huge hit! This review is about both the Discovery box and the Junior Discovery Green Kid Crafts box.

The Discovery box is a STEAM subscription box for kids 5-10. Each box includes 4-8 STEAM projects, a magazine and eco-friendly materials. My son’s box was about nocturnal animals. He loves owls so this box was perfect for him! We made a glow in the dark sock owl, shadow puppets and a paper lantern (with light included). The other two projects required a minimal amount of at home supplies. We needed a jar and an empty bottle. With those we made a lightning bug and lightning bug jar. He also got a poster to display his badges he gets each month. The magazine had a few activities, hidden picture, recipe and other craft projects.

The Junior Discovery box is a STEAM subscription box for kids ages 2-4. My daughter’s box was about insects. We made a bug magnifying jar, bug tic-tac-toe, paper lantern beehive, insect sculptures and butterflies. We made yarn-wrapped bugs with at home materials and went on a bug scavenger hunt. There were lots of fun bug facts included. Her magazine had games, hidden picture, recipe and lots of other fun projects. I don’t feel my daughter’s box had quite as much as my son‘s but there was still plenty and they were very easy and age appropriate!

The boxes are $24.95-$29.95 a month depending on how long you subscribe. They have a sibling subscription where you get two of all the same projects. You can cancel anytime. I feel the boxes are worth the money, especially if you do all the additional projects and use the magazine. The box offers much more than just the materials. There are lots of educational opportunities and projects I wouldn’t have come up with on my own.

I contacted the company about my boxes not being marked with which kid they were for. The insect one seemed easier but I wasn’t 100% sure. They responded very quickly and explained there is usually a sticker on the box.

Green Craft Kids is a green company and that uses minimal packaging, recycled materials and items inside the boxes are bundled in recyclable plastic. They offset 100% of the carbon dioxide generated by their company and have a partnership with OneTreePlanted. If you are looking for a subscription box that is eco-friendly this is definitely the one! Not only are the boxes eco-friendly but they have a focus on humans, animals and the planet.

I hope this review helped you in your decision to try out Green Kid Crafts. If you use this code you can receive 60% off your first box!
